Volunteering
Who is a volunteer?
A volunteer is a person who provides support motivated by his or her own altruism and not by any financial gain. The main praise for volunteers (and the work they do is very serious!) is the feeling that they are useful by doing a good deed. You can become a volunteer for one of our projects:
Early Intervention Project
We need people who are ready to devote several hours a week to caring for a child with disabilities. This would give parents – and usually there is only a single mother – time and opportunity to do the shopping, execute the necessary documents, visit a polyclinic with another child or simply to rest.
A person who wants to become a volunteer for the project Early Intervention should undergo special training. During this training specialists will tell the person about peculiarities of working with disabled children. In case you fit the requirements imposed by the specialists of the Early Intervention project, you will be asked to sign a contract on free of charge support provision.
Project Children Want to Live at Home
- We need support from people who can find a common language and organize children from 10 to 16 years old. All these children currently live in a shelter of one of the Centres for Social Support to Families and Children of Ekaterinburg. These children badly need ordinary human kindness, attention to their needs and problems. You can help these children to do their homework or prepare for a performance.
- Volunteering help might also be needed to repair an apartment where a child is to return to after the shelter.
Special preparation work will be carried out with all those wishing to become volunteers for the project Children Want to Live at Home by specialists of the Centre for Social Support to Families and Children.
